I own a brindle pitbull. We saved him from a bad home where the owner didn't give two craps about him.. he had a completely broken hip so we took him to the vet and got that all fixed up. now he's 2 years old and the happiest goober you'd ever meet. He's my baby

What you guys are doing is wonderful. The breed is great! We have had one for almost 3 years now. He is a wonderful dog. We wouldn't know what to do without him. Too bad other people didn't think the same as we do!!!!

i think its great what you guys are trying to do a friend and i were going to open the same type of rescue in new york a while back but couldnt come up with enough support i think the breed is amaxing and deserves the right kind of credit and i believe that it is wrong how bad they are put down i am moving to virginia soon and would love to help with this cause im glad that there is people out there that are willing to do what you are doing.

Hi, so glad I found your site. My intentions, originally, were to find help in surrendering or finding a home for my 'sugarpie' Karina. Imagine my suprise when I went to the Contact Info page and found a pic of a dead ringer of her on my screen. I have to say, your page on giving up your pet has me seriously hesitating on this decision as my intuition is saying keep her and work with the problems. She is my 3rd pit and I wouldn't have any other breed of dog. Thanks for the work you are doing to try and change the stigma these wonderful dogs have been labeled with.

I just wanted to say that I love to hear about groups/people that are pit bull friendly...I have two, one of them being a rescue that was an ex bate dog...She was my first and fell in love and have loved pits ever since and of course got another...I'll probably never own any other breed...Keep up the good work.

I'm a volunteer with Virginia German Shepherd Rescue and have two friends who have pit bulls -- 6 in all and all are terrific dogs! Keep up the great work of helping this maligned breed!

I just want to thank Misunderstood for bringing Casey and I together. I adopted her a little over a year ago and she is the most loveable dog I have ever came in contact with! She loves my other dog who is 7 they play like puppies! She is the best little dog I could of ever imagined. Thank you!

I also heard bad things about APBTs. I have now rescued two of them. They are drawn to me as I am drawn to them. Keep up the good work!!

My husband was at the vet with one of our rescued dogs for a rabies update shot. A woman came in with a half straved mangy pit she had found. My husband said nice pit bull you got there. The woman freaked. She said if the dog was a pit to called the county and have it put down. My husband said he would take him before he let let woman have him killed just because he was a pit. We took him in Pete who is six months old. We had our vet treat him for the skin condition and took him home. Five days later he became sick. We took him to the vet and he tested positive for Parvo. Once again my husband said this dog is not going to die. He was treated with IV and antibiotics, He beat the odds and recovered. Pete is now healthy, and happy. He gets along with our other pets, he is learning his manners, and gives more love and kisses than we can count. Once he is little strong he will be neutered, as all of our resuces are. I appreciate your organization, and a appluade your efforts to educate the public on this special breed. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Regards, Linda Wagner
